MISD Financial Literacy Training Program

In 2017, Greater State Bank (GSB) participated in a Financial Literacy Training Program with the McAllen Independent School District(MISD) to facilitate presentations for MISD Employees on various financial literacy topics to improve their financial knowledge and financial management skills. In the 2016-2017 program year, GSB Credit Officer Carlos Lopez and GSB Loan Officer Cris Torres visited two MISD Elementary Schools and met with 30-40 employees, to include the principals of each school. The presentation focused on credit topics such as credit scores and what creditors look for when making credit decisions.
